Suzi was born and raised in San Diego County. Her early years were spent raising and showing dogs with her mother, but at only 4 years old she also developed a love for horses following her first pony ride. As she grew she started riding and eventing in both Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage disciplines. As an adult she relocated to Cheyenne, WY. Here she grew to appreciate the work ethic of the modern day cowboy and was drawn toward western riding. Along the way she sought out ways to better understand things from a horse’s point of view; how the rider can find balance with a horse physically, mentally and spiritually.
Suzi enjoyed learning her trade as a multi-faceted instructor under the influences of Buck Brannaman, Harry Whitney, Wendy Murdoch and our very own Bob King, among many other fine horsemen and women. While she has a great love for all things western, including the deep traditions of the Vaqueros, her background in Dressage has proven to provide a valuable dimension to her riding and instruction over the years. Having recently relocated back to our San Diego community, she is excited to now be focusing her attention on Horse of the Sun Ranch.
